Agriculture Canada Announces Agricultural Innovation Program

Agriculture Canada has announced the Agricultural Innovation Program, which is a national $50 million program designed to accelerate the pace of innovation and facilitate the commercialization and adoption of innovation products, technologies, processes and services.

The program can be applied to under one of two streams:

  • Knowledge Creation and Transfer, which includes projects which accelerate the creation, availability, application and tranfer of knowledge and technologies
  • Commercialization, which includes projects that will increase the successful commercialization or adoption or agriculture, agri-food and agri-bsed innovations

Funding is available up to a maximum of 50% of eligible costs.  Awards under the Knowledge Creation and Transfer stream are in grant form, and awards under the Commercialization stream are in the form of loans.
